衙口沙滩

Yakou Beach lies to the east of Yakou village in the section of Shenhu bay of the long passage along the coast. The 5-kilometer-long beach is broad and flat with fine and white quartz sandstones twinkling. You can see a boundless stretch of blue water and hear the sea breeze blowing and the sea water surfing. The clean water, appropriate water temperature, small waves without sharks and beautiful scenery, all these make you feel what a beautiful and safe natural bathing place here. In summer days, people who are swimming, thrashing and tramping on the waves here make the beach brightly and colorful. On the beach south-east to the long passage along the coast lies Shi Lang Square of 5000 square meters and a 16.83- meter-high stone statue of General Shi Lang (symbolizing Shi Lang recovered Taiwan in 1683). With a war helmet, a cloak and a sword holding firmly, the statue gazes intently at the variable climate of the Taiwan straits. While sitting at the house projecting over the beach in the forest of the genus Casuarina, the tourists can enjoy the beautiful sea scenery and sea food and feel as happy as the immortals.
